TINA ROSNER
founder
With more than twenty years of experience in teaching acting, I have learned and practiced various approaches, including techniques devised by Michael Chekhov, Jacques Lecoq, Sanford Meisner, Viewpoins/Suzuki, Stanislavski, Grotowski, David Zinder, Noguchi taisō, amongst others. I have worked with Robert Wilson, took part in the Lincoln Center Directors Lab. In Japan, I worked with Oriza Hirata, Toshiki Okada, Min Tanaka, Mari Osanai, and have appeared in television dramas (Hulu, NHK), and various commercials.
Besides teaching acting, I have been working as an actor, director, theatre researcher. My PhD was written on various acting methods that focus on two main strengths of an actor: presence and silence.
I strongly believe that the most essential tools an actor needs to master are the most basic ones: how to stand, how to sit, how to move: how to be on stage.
None of the names mentioned above sound familiar yet? No problem! In our initial consultation we design a personalised approach that fits best your experience and goals.
I am a member of AACE International (the Association of Acting Coaches and Educators), becoming the first acting coach based in Japan to join the organization.
This membership connects Tokyo Acting Class with the global acting education community, and reflects my ongoing commitment to upholding AACE’s Code of Conduct, which emphasizes creating safe, respectful, consent-based learning environments free from harassment, discrimination, bullying and violence — a significant recognition of professional standards in actor training.
